Difference between Light Magnesium Oxide and Heavy Magnesium Oxide

Light Magnesium Oxide

Properties: Light magnesium oxide is white, amorphous powder, odorless, odorless, non-toxic, specific gravity of 3.58 (25), melting point of 2852, boiling point of 3600. Uses: Used in metallurgy, smelting, high-grade magnesia bricks, refractories and moisturizing materials manufacturing, also widely used in rubber, rubber board, rubber products, pharmaceutical industry, food industry, plastic plate accelerator, plasticizer FRP and surface coating paint of silicon steel sheets, paper production, steel ball polishing, leather processing, insulating materials, grease, dyes, ceramics, dryers, etc. Resin, flame retardant, etc.

Heavy Magnesium Oxide

Ingredients: It is heated by magnesium carbonate. There are two kinds of commonly referred to as heavy and light magnesium oxide is heavy magnesium oxide. Magnesium oxide mixture: 60 g of magnesium oxide and 60 g of heavy magnesium carbonate. Properties: White powder; odorless, tasteless; slow absorption of carbon dioxide in the air. It is almost insoluble in water, insoluble in ethanol and soluble in dilute acid.

Functional Indications: Anti-acid effect is stronger than sodium bicarbonate, slow and lasting, and does not produce carbon dioxide. It reacts with gastric acid to produce magnesium chloride, releases magnesium ions, stimulates intestinal peristalsis, and has the effect of mild diarrhea. It is suitable for patients with hyperacidity and gastric and duodenal ulcer accompanied by constipation. For those without constipation, its diarrhea effect can be corrected by calcium carbonate.
